MyMealVault

Getting Started

Use MyMealVault in Muse

Connect the MyMealVault MCP connector in Muse, plan meals from chat, and disconnect when you are done.

MyMealVault in Muse lets you search recipes you already saved, import from a link, adjust your meal plan, and build a grocery list from chat. You need a MyMealVault account and the hosted MCP server at https://api.mymealvault.com/mcp.

Connect in Muse

  1. Open Connectors

In Muse, go to Settings → Connectors and add MyMealVault (or open the listing when it is live).
  2. Sign in on MyMealVault

Muse sends you to the existing MyMealVault consent screen at https://app.mymealvault.com/connect. Sign in and allow the scopes you want (read for lookup only, read and write for imports and meal plan changes).
  3. Try a prompt

Ask what is for dinner this week or to show your saved pasta recipes.

Four common journeys

  • What's for dinner? Muse calls get_meal_plan for the current week and summarizes planned meals.
  • Save this recipe from a URL. Muse calls import_recipe_from_url, polls get_recipe_import_status, then get_recipe when the job completes.
  • Put a recipe on a day. Muse finds the recipe with search_my_recipes and adds it with add_meal_plan_item.
  • What do I need to buy this week? Muse calls get_grocery_list for the week. Instacart links are optional and only after you agree.

Sensitive actions in Muse

Muse treats delete_recipe and create_instacart_shopping_link as Sensitive writes. Muse asks for approval every time those tools run. You can choose Allow once or Deny; Muse does not offer an always-allow setting for them.

Disconnect

  • In Muse: remove or disable the MyMealVault connector under Settings → Connectors.
  • In MyMealVault: open the web app, go to Settings → Connected apps, and disconnect Muse. The next MCP call fails until you connect again.

Troubleshooting

  • Import seems stuck. URL imports can take up to about two minutes. Ask Muse to check import status again. If the site blocks import, save the recipe with structured fields instead.
  • Write tools fail with insufficient scope. You connected with read-only access. Reconnect and allow write on the MyMealVault consent screen.
  • Too many requests (429). Wait before retrying. MyMealVault limits MCP to 600 authenticated requests per user per client per hour.
  • Session expired. Sign in again from Muse or reconnect the connector.
